Lady Linzee: Linzee
(or Lady Linzee as we now know her) first became aware of her love for
music back in the mid-nineties, in her soon to be hometown of Toronto,
Canada. Always one of the first clubgoers on the dancefloor and one
of the last one's to leave, she was inspired by some of the Detroit
techno, house and trance greats such as Kenny Glasgow, Richie Hawtin,
John Debo and DJ Dan. Today when Linzee is not on the dancefloor, she
can be found bopping behind the decks of some of the smaller, more intimate
parties around Toronto where she uses the music as a catalyst to create
a funky explosion of energy.
In the summer of 1998, Linzee made the move to London, UK and soon found
herself immersed in their club culture. With a lot of encouragement
from her dearest friends, she realized that she no longer wanted to
be simply a face in the crowd. She purchased her first pair of turntables
in the summer of
1999 and hasn't looked back.
Linzee has played both internationally and locally, and her accomplishments
in a few short years speak to her talent. She has built a name for herself
spinning tunes on the chunky and funky edge of house music, gracing
the decks in such clubs as the Ministry of Sound (London, UK), Heaven
(London UK), Buzz (Washington, DC), Trade (Turnmills, London, UK), Faces
(Ayia Napa, Cyprus), Volkesgarten (Vienna, Austria). Since her return
to Toronto she held a monthly residency at Element Bar (Toronto, Canada),
played to a crowd of thousands at the Docks for Reconnected in April
2005 opening up for the
world renowned Crystal Method, has tackled the east coast and held a
year-long residency alongside a wide range of international superstars
at Toronto's System Soundbar.
When asked about one of her greatest achievements, she did not hesitate
in talking about a special appearance to a crowd of over 1 million people
at the Love Parade in Vienna Austria in 2001.
Today Lady Linzee finds herself playing alongside the talented likes
of some of the greatest locals and international talent worldwide at
her residency at Toronto's hottest rising club - BOA.
When asked about her unique DJ'ing style, Linzee smiles. "When I enter
the booth, I try to remember what I was like to be a face in the crowd.
If the audience is not dancing and smiling, I'm doing something wrong.
I tend to gravitate towards funky side of house because it mixes some
of the best elements of dance music, with a friendly atmosphere that
we all know and love."
Seeing Linzee spin, you can't help but catch on to her infectious grooves
as she bops along behind the decks. Her boundless enthusiasm, tremendous
skill and overall presence behind the decks definitely makes her a DJ
not to be missed.
Go hard . or go home". |

Ray
Ray:
Recognized
for his amazing track selection, respected for his seamless mixes, and
driven by his passion for house music - Ray Ray's goal for the evening
is simply to make you dance, and have a good time.
Ray Ray has been involved in the business of filling up dancefloors
since the days of warehouse parties in Toronto. He recalls his first
visit to RPM, with Tyrone of Camouflage Recordings, one of the true
Toronto house veterans. Obviously very inspired by that night, Ray says
that he's "loved house ever since."
Early in his DJ career he was a resident with HiLife Entertainment,
which gave him the opportunity to play on a regular basis to an enthusiastic
crowd. Spinning Hip Hop at these events allowed him to sharpen his skills
on the decks and to develop his own style. Ray Ray's DJ focus changed
from Hip Hop to House early on and although he still stays true to his
genre of choice, he prefers to play a bit more on the harder, techy
side and really rock the crowd.
Notably Ray Ray got great response playing alongside fellow GrooveKat
DJ Finch @ Mad Bar where the pair held a Friday night residency. More
recently he has been playing at a number of well known Toronto venues
including Roxy Blu, Comfort Zone and Therapy. Ray Ray has also become
one of Rampant Entertainment's regular guests for thier events @ System
Soundbar, where he has moved from playing in the front room to the Main
room. |

techno and nu-skool breaks. Due to his skill and professionalism, he's

In early 2002, he teamed up with Ian McIntosh to form
B-Line Productions and start Funky 4/4 Thursdays, at Milano's in downtown
Toronto. Soon after, the pair caught the eye of Toronto promoters CityClubLife
and played a number of gigs in the backroom at System SoundBar, bringing
in great crowds and getting rave reviews!
Other notable events include representing Easten Bloc
records at the NXNE festival, playing fore DOSE Productions at WEMF
2002 and opening for Hatiras @ Element Bar for Activate Wednesdays.
Currently J-Mat can be found @ Roxy Blu as resident in the Lounge for
a monthly event hosted by CityClubLife/OutofHand/GrooveKat.

Matt Gracie :
Matt Gracie has been spinning and producing since 1999. He has come a long way since his humble beginnings, and has found great success playing double duty as promoter and DJ. After gaining the respect of club owners, promoters, and clubbers alike by hosting and promoting parties over the past three years, Matt has finally been able to flourish in his first love, spinning on the decks. His crates are filled with house, techno, trance, and even R&B records, but he is most well known for his sexy, pounding, tribal house.
In just a short time, Matt’s hard work has landed him Toronto residencies at System Soundbar, Mad-Bar, Sugar, Cream, and Byzantium. Performances at other Southern Ontario venues include The Guvernment (Charlie’s and Kool Haus), Ice Lounge, Film Lounge, 5ive, Surface, Element Bar, The Docks. Matt has been fortunate enough to be lined up on the same bill with names such as Paul Oakenfold, Sasha, DJ Dan, Miss Honey Dijon, Cevin Fisher, Ferry Corsten, Stacey Pullen, Johnny Fiasco, DJ Dayhota, Roy Davis Jr., Danny Howells and Deko-ze to name a few. Matt’s ability to adapt and the diversity of his sound have opened up many new doors for this young, energetic performer, including being given the opportunity to play on the Main Stage this year at one of the world’s biggest annual events, PRIDE. 2004 has been a breakthrough year so far, and there is no telling what the future holds for DJ Matt Gracie. “You have to create your own opportunities and parties to play at; you can’t wait around for someone to ask if you want to play. There are thousands of DJ’s out there; you have to give someone a reason to listen to you. It (the lifestyle) is in my blood, whether or I want it to be or not – it’s just something that takes form. With our hard work and dedication, our ‘motto’ is just a vibe that we have created by being ourselves.” DJ Matt Gracie |

Greg Gow :
Greg Gow's deep, groovy techno sound has evolved progressively
since his days of playing house music in the early nineties. As a resident
on York University 's CHRY 105.5 FM station in Toronto , Greg played
alongside much respected house Djs Nick Holder and Mitch Winthrop. While
Greg Gow had established himself as a high-profile Dj in the Toronto
house music circuit, his sound was rapidly evolving. Influenced by the
sounds emerging from Detroit and Germany , by 1996 Greg had traded his
smooth house sound for the dark atmospheric grooves of techno music.
In 1997 the rave scene was exploding across Toronto , and it quickly
became the ideal environment for Greg to display his hard rhythmic tones
and technical brilliance. Yet it was a fresh up-start techno production
company, called Phryl, where Greg's stature of one of the top techno
Dj‚s in Canada was solidified. Playing packed ware-houses alongside
international superstars such as Cari Lekebusch, Adam Beyer, Joel Mull,
Gaetano Parisio, Derrick May, Stacey Pullen and James Ruskin. His sets
for Phryl parties were regarded as brilliant and often overshadowed
the top-billed acts he was playing with. Greg was now a major player
in the dance music scene in Toronto ,and while the scene was shifting
from the warehouses to the more intimate club settings, Greg remained
a staple in an ever-changing culture.
The now booming club scene became Greg Gow's new adopted home, moving
the crowd in the same manner, and seeing him sharing bills alongside
such dance music luminaries as Derrick Carter, Aril Brikha, Rolando
and Richie Hawtin. While not one to stick to one format of the dance
music culture. Greg has also become an accomplished and respected techno
producer, releasing tracks on Seismic Detroit, Default, Zen, 2Wars and
the legendary German techno label Tresor. Garnering spins from techno
heavyweights DJ Rush, Umek, and Mateo Murphy. Greg is also the owner/operator
of two international labels Restructured and Kombustion. Both labels
feature his own music plus different leading artists from around the
world, and have been spotted in the crates of many globe trotting dj's
like Steve Rachmad and Ben Sims.
